Change to the name of Unit

As of July 1, 2007, the Office of Postdoctoral Services changed its name to the Office of Postdoctoral Affairs

Though our name has changed, our mission is the same:

The mission of the Office of Postdoctoral Affairs (OPA) is to enhance, support and promote postdoctoral training at the university.  OPA is supported by the Office of the Provost, the Vice Chancellor for Research and Economic Development, and the School of Medicine to offer services for postdoctoral scholars, faculty, and staff in all disciplines, schools, and colleges at the University.

Changes to Postdoc Health Insurance Plan

Effective July 1, 2007- Changes Approved in Postdoc Health Insurance – Letter will be sent out to all postdocs regarding the changes.  There has been in increase across county for health insurance.  The increased cost will be passed on to the PIs.

Increase in Minimum Postdoc Stipend and Recommended Stipend Increases

Effective October 15, 2007- Approved 3% increase in minimum stipend and recommended additional stipend for returning postdocs based on performance review.
